いつもご支援頂きありがとうございますm(__)m 今年1月より取り組んだ「80頭を救いたいプロジェクト」は多くの皆様のご協力により 7/8現在、73頭（譲渡内定1頭含）という予想もしなかった頭数が それぞれ里親様の元へ迎え入れられ第二の犬生を歩む幸運を掴みました。 未だ里親様未決定の保護犬は残す所あと3頭となっています。 しかしこの3頭の里親様がなかなか決定せず 長引く活動にスタッフの疲労や負担も大きく、 プロジェクトも苦しい状況に追い込まれています。 台風3号が沖縄に近付いてまいりました。 皆さまもご存じの通り、沖縄は大型台風が多く通過し、被害も多い地域です。 フィリピン周辺で台風が発生した場合は、数日の間に台風に見舞われることもあります。 現在里親様を募集している犬達は、パームシルクのウッドデッキにケージを並べて 保護しておりますが、台風の規模によってはウッドデッキでさえ 破損する可能性があります。 まして犬達の安全を確保することは不可能となってしまいます。 私のところには二年前より里親募集中のサクラ（問題行動有り）もお預かりしています。(詳しくはサクラプロジェクトとサクラの日記過去ログを御覧ください) 台風の被害から身を守る為には人も犬も家の中に籠もって じっと過ぎ去るのを待っているしか方法が有りません。 普段は室外で過ごしている保護犬達も自宅内に避難させてやる必要があります。 しかし、サクラと他の犬達を一緒に一つ屋根の下で過ごさせること、 台風が過ぎ去るまで何日も我慢をしなければならないことは どちらの犬達にとっても多大なストレスになるでしょう。 これを回避する手段としては、いずれかの犬を暴風雨の中でも屋外へ出すしかありません。 沖縄に台風が直撃した場合の被害は半端ではありません。 台風がたとえ通過しなくても 日中の最高気温は35度を超えており サクラが現在飼育されている地表温度は50度を超えそうなほどの暑さです。(現在水や氷で対処していますが過酷な暑さです。) 本来ミッキーやノンちゃん達が居るウッドデッキはサクラの居場所でしたが、多くの犬達が一時保護されるたびに、 サクラのストレスは尋常ではありませんでしたので現在の飼育場所になりました。 いままで何度かウッドデッキで一緒にと トライもしましたが、サクラはストレスで泡をふくほどでしたので隔離しました。 2年前に比べればかなり改善されたとはいえ いつ噛むか解からないサクラを子供達や忠太が居る家の中に入れるわけにはいきません。 当初3月末に残っている子達は安楽死の選択を決定していましたが これまで皆様からご支援を頂き、新しい飼い主さん探しを行って来ました。 けれども現在 残る犬達に関してはエントリーさえない状況です。 新しい家が見つからなかった犬達に関しましては、 期限を設定し、愛護センターへの引き渡しではなく、 安楽死、荼毘に付し、ペット霊園に納骨することを決定しなくてはならない状況になってまいりました。 非常に辛い判断ですが、判断するまでに数ヶ月悩み続けましたが、 もうこれ以上先延ばしできないのが現状です。 この子達が私のところに留まると言うことは、 私のところへ助けを求めて来られても、 「もう助けることは出来ない」と言うことにつながります。 どちらにもキャパシティーと言うものがあり その限界を超えてレスキューは出来ません。 Wishの各スタッフも皆保護した犬猫を複数家族にしており これ以上一時保護を続けていく事は無理の大きい状況です。 私はサクラやこの子達だけが良ければ良いと言う考えではなく、 この子達が幸せになってこそ又次の命が救えるのだと思います。 沖縄では救いを求めている犬や猫、うさぎなどが非常に多く毎日命を落としています。 そこで、皆さまに最後のご協力のお願いです。 皆様とともにレスキューした犬達です。 出来れば安楽死等させたくはありません。 もしも、この子達の里親様、または一時預かり様になることを 考慮してくださる方がいらっしゃいましたら、 ご連絡をお願いいたします。沖縄県外の方でも構いません。 県外で一時預かりを希望される方には、まず一次譲渡という形で 犬を譲渡した後、現地で最終的な里親様の募集協力をお願いさせて頂いております。 （つまり、二次譲渡を前提としたやりとりとなります。） 皆さまのご理解、ご協力をお願いいたします。 ☆wishからのお願い☆ ※他サイトへの御迷惑になるような書き込みはお控えください。 先日も他サイトのオーナー様や御利用されている方からの御指摘がございました。 Wish!のこのプロジェクトのタイトルが 「80頭を救いたい」であり、決して「80頭を助けたい」ではないところに、Wish!の真意があります。 「助けただけでは幸せになれない、飼い主に愛情を貰い、与えることが犬の幸せである。」 これが、Wish! 発足当初からの揺るぎない信念です。 幸せになって、はじめて「救えた」といえるのです。 どうか御理解頂けますようによろしくお願い致しますm(__)m ■追記（by marimo） Wishで募集している里親様というのは 1.家族として受け入れてその子を終生飼育してくださる里親様 2.二次譲渡を前提とした一次譲渡。 　二次譲渡不可能な場合は「1」と同様家族として 　終生飼育の条件を承諾してくださる里親様 基本的にこの2つです。 勿論もっとも待ち望んでいるのは「1」の里親様です。 「一時預かり」という言葉をあちこちで見かけますが Wishの依頼により短期間預かっていただける方の募集という意味では有りません。 二次譲渡を前提とした一次譲渡の里親様という意味です。 簡単に言うとWishよりその子を譲渡契約により引き取り その後一次譲渡の里親様の責任に置いて 次の里親様を探すという形でお願いしています。 またこの一次譲渡の里親様についても 多頭飼いをなさっている方や その子の二次譲渡先が見つからない場合に 家族として引き受けていただくことが難しそうな場合には 残念ですがお断りさせて頂いております。 シェルターへというご提案も多く頂いておりますが 私達は基本的にシェルターへの譲渡を拒んでいます。 どこのシェルターも少ない人数で非常に多数の動物たちを保護しています。 多頭飼育崩壊からレスキューした子を また多頭の中で暮らす生活に戻したく有りません。 家族の一員として愛情とケアを受けられる幸せな生活をして欲しいんです。 私達はシェルターを出ることが出来ずに そこで一生を終えるしかなかった犬達を知っています。 それが幸せなことだとは思っていません。 SOSを発信している身で それでも条件が厳しくて大変申し訳ない気持ちですが 犬達には幸せであって欲しいと私達は考えています… ただただ延命手段のような形でずるずると 「犬としての幸せ」を感じられないような生活を あの子達に送らせたくはありません。 家族として受け入れてくださる里親様を切に求めております。 この点へのご理解をどうかお願いいたします<(_ _)>

Last-ditch call from Wish First of all, we would like to thank you for your consistant support. Wish have been working on this 80 dogs project since January of this year, and as of July 8, 73 dogs (1 adopted before the launch of this project) out of 80 have been adopted and got a chance to live a happy life. This number is something we couldn't expect when we started the project, and we would relly like to appreciate all your help. There are, however, 3 dogs looking for homes. They met some prospective families but all didn't go well. 6 months have been passed since we started this project, and all the staff are shattered and the project has made no progress for the last one month. The 3rd typhoon approaching to Okinawa. As you know, many large typhoons hit Okinawa and we often get damages. If a typhoon is born in the Philippins area, it is possible that the typhoon reaches Okinawa in a couple of days. The remaining dogs are staying in the kennels on the deck at Palm Silk. When a big typhoon hits here, the deck might be broken. It is almost impossible to secure the safety of the dogs. At Palm Silk, we have been fostering a dog named Sakura who needs a lot of trainings since 2004 (please refer to Sakura project and diary logs for details). During the typhoon both people and dogs have to stay inside the house until it passes. We need to take the dogs on the deck inside the house. However, it is very stressful for both Sakura and other dogs to stay together for a couple of days. We might have to let either of the dogs to stay outside in the hard rainstorm. Typhoons give us tremendous damage in Okinawa. Not only typhoons but also the heat is killing us. The highest temperature goes up to 35C in summer, and where Sakura stays is much hotter - the ground temperature could be 50C (so we water and use ice to cool down, but it's still hot.) Mickey and Non are staying on the deck which was originally Sakura's area. We tried several times to put them together, but it was too stressful for Sakura that she formed at her mouth. Sakura has changed a bit but still a biting dog, and we can't take her inside the house where our children and other dog live. As you know, all the remaining dogs were to put into sleep at the end of March. With your support, we have been looking for families for the 80 dogs. However, the remaining three dogs - we receive no application for them. It is really hard to say and we didn't want to make this decision, but we would have to put them into sleep, cremate, and take them to a pet charnel house. It is an extremely difficult decision to make, and it took a few months to come to this conclusion, however, we can't postpone any longer. Each of Wish staff has several dogs/cats who were adopted before the rescue project started. We have been looking after the remaining dogs for the last 6 months. Also, this project is not the only one we have been working on, and t is unable to do this kind of rescue if you are beyond the limit. It doesn't mean we want our old dogs/cats to be happy; we believe that we can't make others happy unless we can take care of our nearests. In Okinawa, there are many dogs, cats, and rabbits etc. are losing their lives. This is our last-ditch call from Wish. We don't want to put them sleep - we have rescued them with you. If you are still interested in adopting or fostering the remaining ones, please let us know. It is not problem if you reside outside Okinawa. If you live outside the island, we would like to have an adoption contract first. Then the dog will be adopted out from you to the final owner; we'll of course do our best to find a permanent home in your area. Thank you for your understanding and support.
